Being the best version of ourselves
Squirrel Class is a Year 5 class of 13 pupils, aged between 9 and 10, forming part of the Red Bubble in school. We will be focusing closely on the individual needs of each child, reflecting both what they need to learn next but also and equally importantly how they learn best. In our class team we have Mr Robinson, Mrs Thompson and Miss Woodfield.
We aim to develop the children into confident and independent learners who have a ‘can do’ attitude, looking to find different ways to solve new challenges and not thinking that things are too difficult for them. We want them to develop their respect for and tolerance of the differences between themselves.
Our classroom is organised to allow freedom of movement for the children when it is safe to do so and resources are clearly labelled to allow the children to access them independently. They are encouraged to ask for support when they need it and will be helped to resolve their concerns, allowing them to succeed independently and in their future endeavours.
This half term we are focusing on "Towns and Cities in Europe", "Living things and their habitats" and "Growing up". We will also be looking at art and making models within our "Enrichment" sessions and partaking in team games in PE.
Please make sure you have your PE kits in school on Wednesdays. We will be partaking in team games this half term.
This term we are visiting the forest on Fridays. Please make sure you have warm clothes, wellies and waterproofs as we go in all weathers.
Please ensure all pieces of uniform including coats, bags and shoes are clearly labelled with your child’s name. This makes it much easier to return misplaced clothing to the right person. Thank you.
