Squirrels

Squirrel Class is a KS2 class of 14 pupils, aged between 7 and 11 years of age. We will be focusing closely on the individual needs of each child, reflecting both what they need to learn next and how they learn best. In our class team we have Mr Robinson, Mrs N Morris, Mrs Picken, Mrs Lowe and Mrs Currien.
We aim to develop the children into confident and independent learners who have a ‘can do’ attitude, looking to find different ways to solve new challenges and not thinking that things are too difficult for them. We want them to develop their respect for and tolerance of the differences between themselves.
Our classroom is organised to allow freedom of movement for the children, with resources clearly labelled to allow the children to access them independently. We have created a safe learning environment for everyone in class, encouraging each other to ask for support when they need it and talk about our worries.

Class updates

PE
Our PE days for this half term are Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure your child has their PE kit to keep in school and is clearly labelled, and they bring their swimming kit in on a Monday. Squirrel Class will be attending weekly swimming sessions on Mondays until the end of the Summer Term.

Life Skills
During life skills we will take part in lots of practical and fun activities to allow children to learn and develop the skills needed for life beyond Woodsetton. This half term, the children will be attending to the Woodsetton Garden. It would benefit the children to have wellies in school on a Thursday morning please.
