Squirrel Class
Being the best version of ourselves

Squirrel Class is a Year 5 class of 16 pupils, aged between 9 and 10, forming part of the Green Bubble in school. We will be focusing closely on the individual needs of each child, reflecting both what they need to learn next but also and equally importantly how they learn best. In our class team we have Mr Robinson, Mrs Currien, Mrs McDonald and Mrs K Morris.
We aim to develop the children into confident and independent learners who have a ‘can do’ attitude, looking to find different ways to solve new challenges and not thinking that things are too difficult for them. We want them to develop their respect for and tolerance of the differences between themselves.
Our classroom is based in our new building (The Hive). It is organised to allow freedom of movement for the children when it is safe to do so and resources are clearly labelled to allow the children to access them independently. They are encouraged to ask for support when they need it and will be helped to resolve their concerns, allowing them to succeed independently and in their future endeavours.
This term we are focusing on "Respecting Rights" (PSHE), "Ancient Greeks" (Geography, History), "Seasons" (Science) and "Easter celebrations" (RE). We will also be looking at arts and crafts skills in our "Enrichment" sessions and partaking in dance during PE.

Class updates

PE
Please make sure you have your PE kits in school on Thursdays. We will be partaking in multi skills and gymnastics this term.

Forest
This term we are visiting the forest on Fridays. Please make sure you have warm clothes, wellies and waterproofs as we go in all weathers.

Uniform
Please ensure all pieces of uniform including coats, bags and shoes are clearly labelled with your child’s name. This makes it much easier to return misplaced clothing to the right person. Thank you.
