Owls

Owl Class are part of our Pathway 3. We are a mix of Years 4, 5 and 6 children. Mrs Cook is our class teacher, supported by Mrs Braiden and Mrs Butler.
Through our ‘Aim High’ Ethos, in Pathway 3 we begin to apply our knowledge and skills using our awareness of the wider world around us. We focus closely on the individual needs of each child and their preferred learning style to ensure that our curriculum meets their needs in order for them to progress and achieve. We have created a safe and happy learning environment that inspires the children to care for each other and also promotes a positive atmosphere, encouraging self-confidence and independence, in all aspects of life and learning.
In Owl Class ‘Every Pupil Matters …. Every Moment Counts’.

Our Friday sessions will be led by a coach and we will be learning and developing some cricket skills. Please make sure your child has their PE kit to keep in school and is clearly labelled.

Life Skills
Over the Autumn Term we will be developing our ‘Life Skills’ during our weekly focused sessions. In the first half term we will be focusing on ‘Keeping Safe’. In the second half term we will developing our knowledge and skills linked to ‘Personal Hygiene’ and knowing why this is important in our everyday lives.

Visits
We hope to plan some visits over the term, including a Christmas treat. Please look out for more information regarding these later on in the term.

Reading
Your child will bring home a reading book everyday. Please spend time sharing this and reading together. Doing this will support your child’s development and also enhance their speech and communication skills. Please ensure that books are sent back into school everyday. Also try to promote reading for pleasure with your child by sharing books, comics and magazines etc. It may also be nice to visit to local library together to choose books to read and share.
